De la « agrovila » au pôle logistique : reconfigurations territoriales liées à l'expansion portuaire et à celle des ETC à Miritituba et Itaituba
This article analyzes the territorial reconfiguration associated with the implementation of grain Cargo Transshipment Stations (CTS) in Miritituba, a district of Itaituba, Pará, Brazil, since 2014. It examines how the formation of a road-waterway logistics node connected to the grain export circuit has reorganized territorial uses, flows, and local practices. The research is a case study based on a qualitative approach, supported by bibliographical and documentary analysis, quantitative data on cargo movements, aerial imagery, and three field visits conducted in 2018, 2023, and 2024. The results indicate that the expansion of CTS’ and supporting infrastructures increased the territorial fluidity of commodities while reconfiguring areas previously devoted to rural and residential uses and intensifying truck and vessel flows. The analysis reveals a tension between territory appropriated as a resource by logistics agents and territory used as shelter and as a space for the reproduction of local activities.
