Les travaux en géographie concernant la médiation scientifique et son accessibilité pour la population sont peu nombreux. Cette thèse interroge la capacité du champ de l'éducation non formelle aux sciences à répondre aux enjeux de justice sociale qui lui sont attachés. À partir d'une approche géographique s'intéressant aux lieux de médiation scientifique et à la gouvernance multiscalaire qui les produisent, nous tentons d'identifier les rapports de pouvoir qui contraignent le travail des médiateurs scientifiques.
This thesis examines the capacity of the field of non-formal science education to address the social justice issues related to access to knowledge and practices in the field of sciences. Using a geographical approach that focuses on places of scientific mediation and the various relationships that produce them, we attempt to identify the power dynamics that constrain the work of mediators. We also question, within the theoretical framework of the historical bloc, the impact of economic and cultural policies and the support of public authorities at different scales on the actions of mediators and the production of non-formal science education places.
