In this article, the author proposes to define a "geodocumentary approach", based on the epistemological premises of social geography. He is interested in geodocumentary filmmaking as entailing a distinct method of its own, aimed at conveying the self-reflexive critical dimension of social geography. Geodocumentary films bring together research and social intervention, and can also serve as educational tools for a range of audiences. Beyond making audiovisual pictures, the geodocumentary approach proposes a vision of geography, both embodied and aimed at address contemporary issues.
